The Book Cover is a consignment resale store front and an on-line store for homeschool textbooks and educational resources.

We exist to help the homeschool family with their curriculum buying and selling. We are here to help the busy family find the materials they need, to help the unsure family try a curriculum or resource for a reduced price, to help the family on a budget recover some of the cost from a year of homeschooling and to save on buying for the next.

Math classes at The Book Cover. (Taught by Marlain Jones.)

Math Class Information for 2008/2009

For the 4^th year I am offering math classes for homeschoolers. All classes are taught at The Book Cover in North Richland Hills. I have many references if you would like to talk to other parents or students, please ask for the information. I enjoy teaching math and work to keep the students working at their pace. With our new classroom, math classes are held by level with 3-5 students per class. This size provides a few advantages but is small enough to prevent all the disadvantages. Looking ahead to 2009/2010 we will have another math teacher joining us and teaching upper high school math courses!

Levels to be offered for the 2008/2009

Math 6/5 Algebra 1/2

Math 76 Algebra 1

Geometry Algebra 2

All classes are taught using Saxon (except Geometry which uses Jacob’s Geometry)

Placement in a class is based on individual ability not on age or previous work. If you need help finding the correct level, please contact me for testing/placement.

Fees for Math 5/4 - Math 8/7 are $30/month plus $50 registration fee. (Tuition is due monthly September – March) These classes meet for 70 – 80 minutes once a week.
Fees for Algebra 1/2 and up are $50/month plus $50 registration fee. (Tuition is due monthly September – March) These classes meet for 90 – 100 minutes once a week.
Class time and date will be scheduled based on the availability of the students in the class. All classes MUST have 3 students.

Classes will begin in September and end in late April or early May (with normal holiday breaks).
Monthly tuition will be collected a month ahead, starting the first of August and ending the first of March.
Individual or Sibling Teaching or Tutoring and Instruction is available for $20 per 50 minute session. Sessions must be scheduled and regular sessions must be paid monthly, in advance. In most cases two siblings could share one session for teaching purposes throughout a year.
